Located along the Pacific Coast of British Columbia, Pender Island consists of two islands – North Pender and South Pender which are connected by a one-lane bridge. Although Pender Island is a 2-hour ferry ride from Vancouver, it is only a 40-minute ferry ride from Sidney, BC.
With a sub-Mediterranean climate, Pender Island features farms, forests, several lakes, small mountains and many coves & beaches. In comparison, Pender Island offers the most public beach access points of any of the Southern Gulf Islands.
Known as a popular destination for cycling, fishing, hiking, boating, sailing, scuba diving and many outdoor pursuits. In addition, the Pender Islands boast a 9-hole golf course as well as a 27-hole disc golf course. Also, numerous art galleries, restaurants and shops hosts a variety of local events throughout the year. Saturday mornings during the summer, the Pender Island Farmer’s Market offers handcrafts, entertainment and local produce.
